Wasteland planets are the remains of advanced civilization. They are a good source of Spare Parts and other metallic junk.
Long ago this biome was a majestic city of towering skyscrapers filled with every race imaginable. At some point an unknown apocalyptic event wiped out most of it. The few people that survived hid in underground bunkers and turned to scavenging for survival. You can expect hardened bandits to accost you in your travels across these ruins. Occasional ash storms will hinder your vision as well. Not recommended for early game players!
While one might presume they are simply Scorched worlds without the heat, this is false. The concept may be the same, but other than sharing a post-apocalyptic theme, they are completely different in terms of layout, microdungeons, block composition, enemies, trees (scorched worlds don't have them), etc.
Codex description
- A wasteland housing the remains of a once great civilization. Something awful happened here, long ago. Ancient ruins hold many lost treasures. Violent weather detected.
- A wasteland. Abundant ruins of a dead civilization located primarily near coastlines. Strange and often severely deadly storms form from time to time.
- Once a thriving world, something eradicated most life on this wasteland. Bandits and raiders are commonly found scavenging for resources amid extremely dangerous weather patterns.
