Gadgetry (Engineering tree).Precision Ore Detector is an upgradable tool that precisely targets a specific ore or mineral. It has different tiers, in which each tier determines the type of ores it can scan.
To use it, click it to release a pulse to scan any nearby ores. Shift+Click to open its scan interface. An ore or bar can be used to scan a specific type.
Here are the different tiers of the Precision Ore Detector, and the ores it can scan at each tier.

Alternative tool is Multi-ore Detector, which will detect all ores. This can be a good thing if you need ALL ores, but it can also be a bad thing when you don't want something cheap like Copper Ore to distract you from finding Diamonds or a specific ore that you lack.
