Master Manipulator is an upgrade of the vanilla Matter Manipulator. It is one of the six Artifacts, powerful and immensely advanced devices created by the Cultivator as a gift for six alien species. The Master Manipulator was gifted to humanity, who based their own Matter Manipulators on it. It was originally wielded by the Terrene Protectorate's Grand Protectors until Esther Bright's retirement, after which it remained in her hands until late in the game's story, when she uses it to unlock the Ark's sealed gate leading to the final encounter with the Ruin.
It is the best manipulator in the game. It starts with 10x10 area and has exceptional range and mining speed. It can challenge even the highest-tier Mining Laser.
You can replace existing Matter Manipulator by using Shift+right click on the Personal Tricorder and moving it into the Matter Manipulator's slot.
Upgrades
- It doesn't matter if the previous/vanilla Matter Manipulator had any upgrades e.g. speed or area increases - the newly installed Master Manipulator starts from a clean slate (no speed/distance/area upgrades), with the exception of Wiring Mode and Paint Mode, which are retained. Liquid collection is unlocked by default.
- After you install the Master Manipulator, you can upgrade it further (with upgrades like "+300% speed"). For example, its mining area can be increased up to 13x13.
