Both the primary fire and the alt fire will launch a rocket that, as it travels, also launches its own submunitions in all directions, dealing a mixture of physical, universal, and ice damage (resulting in damage numbers with the colors of red, white, and blue, the colors of the flag of the United States of America.
The big differences between the primary and alt fire modes is that the submunitions from the primary fire mode are less numerous and travel in straight lines, while the submunitions from the alt fire mode are more numerous and travel in a wave-like path. If fired into a wide, open area, the alt fire mode can generate enough submunitions to lag the game slightly. The primary fire also does a small amount of radiation damage; USA loves its nukes!
