X'i
A unisex race of mysterious radioactive beings. Their legs are long and pointed, helping to provide them speed and a natural attack in melee. They are very hardy in irradiated environments, benefiting from radiation instead of being injured by it. Their chitin-like outer carbonized flesh is softened by a layer of feather-like hairs that absorb nascent radiation emitted from their cores.
Their lack of traditional feet makes them poor swimmers, and they can experience meltdowns from staying in hot environments for too long. They are voracious, requiring a nearly constant feeding cycle.
They are able to generate seeds and genes from their own body, which they can then use to create gear or heal and feed their damaged bodies.
Note: This race is intended for Survival or Hardcore mode. They will have reduced access to their racial crafting if playing without hunger.

Racial Benefits/Penalties
- Racial Tech (Rad-Bulb): (craft with [C]) Enables you to plant special flora that will generate unique X'ian resources. These can be used to heal, craft, and fight.
- Voracious: Increased hunger, requiring regular eating in order to be at their best. Keeping fed keeps your penalties and buffs stable. Your Resist values reduce based on your current Hunger (with 100% being the maximum).
Values at full belly: Poison - 20%, Cosmic - 10%, Radiation - 70%, Electric/Fire/Ice - See table.
Values at starvation: Electric/Fire/Ice - -30%, Cosmic/Poison/Radiation: See table.
- X'ian Dependency: Cannot heal through standard means. Requires racial items (use racial tech).
Environmental Bonuses/Penalties
- Hot biomes: 15% Protection, 35% more Hunger Drain
- Irradiated, Toxic, Alien, Proto, Chromatic, Jungle and Fungal biomes: 15% increase Power Energy Regen. 5% less Hunger Drain.
- Your Protection increases over time spent in an area to a maximum of +25. Leaving the area resets the bonus.
