Eldritch Field is an Elder-themed subbiome. It has vicious night-only enemies like Star Spawn of Cthulhu or Wraith. As the biome may appear even on low tier planets, an unprepared player may have a hard time surviving in it. In addition to the hostile fauna, tiles and liquids such as Elder Stone, Pus, and Essentia Obscura which are common throughout the biome inflict debuffs that cannot be countered until later game.
It is one of the only two surface biomes where you can find Raw Nocxium - the second one being Horrific Field.
