Vinalisj

Vinalisj (pronounced Vee-nah-leezh, short: Vina) is a white slug-like creature that spawns on Garden planets.

He is the primary questgiver of "repair your ship" questline, involving the Dark Cavern and getting to the vanilla Outpost. He also gives you the location of Science Outpost, of which he is the boss.

Aside from quests, he offers you 1 free Iron Pickaxe, and his house has a Medical Bay, a kitchen area with Hi-tech Oven (which can cook everything that Kitchen Counter can), a Teleporter and a fridge.

Tutorial quests

• Have a Primitive Furnace (in your inventory: if you already crafted/placed it before accepting the quest, then mine it with your Matter Manipulator, and the quest will be completed immediately)
• Have a Foraging Table
• Have a Machining Table
• Craft Copper Wire
• Craft an Electromagnet
• Go to the entrance to the Dark Cavern (somewhere on the surface of the first Garden planet), enter and explore it (this is the path to vanilla Outpost)

Vinalisj also recommends crafting an Armorworks (to gear up before the Dark Cavern), but this is not a quest, it's merely a good idea to do so. If you don't have Water to make Armorworks, you can get it from a Well.

Trivia

• Though he bears a slight resemblance to a white Chromodoris willani, he is actually a member of the monotreme family, making him related to the platypus and various species of echidna.
• His age is unknown, however, Vinalisj mentions that he will be very furry "when he grows up". It can be inferred that he is at most an adolescent of his species.
