While being on the land, a lot of major changes in Skathian scientific process came to pass. With a wealth of new resources to explore and new states to test it in, the first golden age of the Skath began. The first radiotransmitters bred untold of excitement. We were social creatures, after all, and someone new to talk to was thrilling as a concept.
With our technology advancing,they were able to build cities deeper in Norkumsgath's oceans than ever before. Content in isolation, these Skath disappeared and then...vanished from memory. It was not until the First Contact War over a century later that they were seen again.
Eventually, there was a split in our peoples ideologies: one wanted to embrace The Message and reach to the stars. The others wanted to be left alone, to leave the stars a mystery. While there was no war, there as certainly a schism of sorts. The latter group broke with tradition and the Council and left.
