The Infected Queen is one of many types of flying insectoids, that make up this category of creature, this one being exceptionally rare! This variety is noted by it's dark purple body and black stripes similar to a wasp, if that wasp was the size of a medium sized dog. About thrice as large as an Infected Bee, the Queen is the most impressive specimen of any hive.

Before attacking, the Infected Queen spawns up to 12 Infected Bee's to fight for her. These drones are quickly replaced if killed, and can pose a a serious threat if not dealt with promptly (they shoot lasers for goodness sake!). When the queen chooses to attack, she can fire a damaging close range laser attack that deals cosmic damage and inflict the "electrified" status, or a long ranged orb that explodes on impact, leaving a large AOE slow field for 5 seconds. Additionally, when the Infected Queen swoops at a target, she strikes for overall decent damage, and leaves the target with an enhanced debuff called "Sting". This debuff not only inflicts radiation damage overtime similar to poison, but also causes the player to glow brightly for a few seconds, and attracts her drones to the target.

Luna's Lab Notes

~ The versatility of this creature makes it exceedingly useful as a pet. Able to spawn massive armies of drones, all with decent health, quick speed and ranged attacks is useful for combat. The ability to inflict the electrified status, and create long range AOE slow zones can be useful for fighting bosses or more troublesome creatures. Lastly, the Infected Queen has more hp than most other queen bees, giving her better survivability.

~ This monster has a much higher range of tracking when compared to other creatures (a range of 50 compared to the average of 20-30). This meaning that the Infected Queen will pursue players for longer, and from further away.

~ This queen, unlike all others, begins spawning it's drones from the moment of it's creation, rather than waiting to spawn them when spotting an enemy. This means that at all times, an Infected Queen will be surrounded by drones and prepared for a fight.

~ Upon death, the Infected Queen drops 3-10 Liquid Erchius Fuel upon death.
