Drops from trees

Drops from trees are items that you get when chopping trees.

How are drops determined

Drops are defined by Foliage (leafy part of the tree) and Stem (woody trunk of the tree). Each Sapling is a combination of 1 Stem and 1 Foliage.

For example, protoleaves foliage gives 1 Protocite and 1 Sapling, and prototree stem gives 3 Wooden Logs. By cutting a "protoleaves + prototree" tree, you get both.
Furthermore, you get way more than just 3 Wooden Logs, because this number is further increased by the height of the tree.

Making custom trees

If you have two saplings: one with foliage A, another with stem B, then you can use the Cloning Lab to create an A+B sapling.

For example, you can add Red Apples to a giant tree with Redwood Bark wood, or add Coconuts to Kelp. Some of these trees will look epic, others will be an abomination.

How to chop trees

With your Matter Manipulator (slow), with Chainsaw (fast, produces funny sounds) or with Harvester Beamgun (instant, attempts to automatically replant the Saplings).
